Schedule A Lesson

THE FINE PRINT

Your musical experience should be fun and relaxing, not stressful and confusing. So, it's my top priority that you know what is involved in scheduling lessons so that you know your options if your schedule doesn't go as planned.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to call/text me at 469-383-4840 or email hello@playnately.com - Nate Lee

What You Need to Know

Each lesson is up to 50 minutes long, depending on your needs for the day. Your lessons are about learning new skills to play well with others, not about watching the clock. So mark your calendar for a full 50 minutes if we need it, but if we reach our objectives for the day earlier or you just feel tired, we will only use part of the 50 minutes.

Once your lesson is scheduled, your lesson purchase is final. Like any other final purchase, your time slot is yours to use or not use as you please, and your money is wasted if you don't attend your lesson.

Lessons A La Carte (non-member lessons) can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours notice if a slot is available on my public booking calendar above. You cannot reschedule your lesson if no slot is available on my public booking calendar.

I'll be happy to make a video lesson for you if you can't make it to your lesson. Just let me know any time before your lesson starts, and I'm happy to do that for you!

Please note: There are no refunds or credits if you cancel or miss your lesson.

In the unlikely event that I must cancel your lesson, you will be given your choice of a refund or priority scheduling for a make-up lesson.

Audio & Video Recordings

During your lesson I'll make recordings of everything you need so that you can practice with confidence.

Technical Difficulties

Technical difficulties happen, but you don't have to miss your lesson due to spotty internet or a computer crash if you've taken the proper steps to prepare.

Your devices and internet connection are your responsibility, so make sure to follow these instructions carefully before every lesson to reduce the chance of losing valuable lesson time:

  • Technical Problems

Most technical problems are solved by turning your device off and on again. Before your lesson, restart your device by turning it all the way off and back on again ten minutes before your lesson. Restart sooner if your device takes a while to be ready to use. Please note: Turning off your screen by tapping or clicking a power button is not the same as restarting your device.

  • Prepare Your Devices

Charge and update your devices before your lesson. Don't wait until right before your lesson starts to find out that your device needs 10 minutes to restart or a half hour to update before you can use it.

  • Check Your Wifi

Sluggish internet speeds are often fixed by restarting your router. To restart your router: Unplug the power cord, wait thirty seconds, and plug the cord back in. Most routers take 5-15 minutes before they are up and running again, so start the process twenty minutes before your lesson to play it safe.

  • Refrain People

Ask others to refrain from using your internet connection during your lesson time. YouTube and Netflix burn up bandwidth and will reduce your internet speed, leading to grainy video and distorted audio.

  • Get a Fast Internet Speed

Get the fastest internet you can. Recommended speed is at least 50Mbps (download speed) and 20Mbps (upload speed).

  • Have a Backup

Have a backup plan in case your internet or device fails. A cell phone or tablet connected to a cellular network is an excellent backup option.

  • Signup for Premium Membership

If your device or internet have frequent problems, it's best to sign up for Premium or Executive Membership to avoid the stress of missed lessons.
